About Guided Practice

Building Skills. Supporting Families. Creating Futures.™

At Guided Practice, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive. Our mission is to provide compassionate, individualized Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services that honor the unique strengths, needs, and goals of every child and family we serve.

We understand that navigating developmental, behavioral, and daily living challenges can feel overwhelming. That's why we work alongside families, educators, medical providers, and community partners to create meaningful goals focused on communication, independence, safety, social development, and quality of life. We believe progress happens best when families feel supported, understood, and empowered.

Guided Practice provides clinic, home, school, and community-based ABA services designed to help children build the skills they need to be successful in the environments that matter most. Through collaboration, evidence-based treatment, and a commitment to individualized care, we strive to create lasting and meaningful outcomes for every child.

In addition to traditional ABA services, Guided Practice collaborates with school districts through the Guided Practice Academic ABA Hybrid Program™. Developed by Founder Callie Gartenman, the Guided Practice Academic ABA Hybrid Program™ is a proprietary framework designed to bridge the gap between behavioral support and academic instruction. The model integrates highly trained behavior technicians, BCBA supervision, educational collaboration, and individualized student supports to help students access learning, increase independence, improve classroom participation, and achieve meaningful educational outcomes. Through ongoing collaboration with teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families, Guided Practice helps districts build sustainable support systems for students with complex behavioral and educational needs.

Whether a child is learning their first words, building friendships, increasing independence, preparing for school success, or developing life skills for the future, our team is committed to guiding families every step of the way.

Meet Our Founder

Callie Gartenman, M.Ed., BCBA, COBA

Founder

Callie Gartenman is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and Certified Ohio Behavior Analyst (COBA) with more than fifteen years of experience supporting children and families across school, clinic, home, and community settings.

Her journey began in education. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Mathematics from Eastern Illinois University and started her career as a classroom teacher in the Cincinnati area. While teaching, Callie discovered a passion for supporting students with developmental and behavioral needs and developed a strong interest in the science of learning and behavior.

In 2010 she entered the field of Applied Behavior Analysis as a behavior technician. Motivated to provide deeper, more effective supports, she earned a Master’s degree in Behavior Analysis from the University of Cincinnati while gaining hands-on experience in community-based and outreach services. She became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst in 2014 and has since helped children and young adults develop communication, social, academic, behavioral, and independent-living skills.

Callie combines certification as a teacher and a behavior analyst to take a practical, collaborative approach to intervention planning and school partnerships. She has supported students across schools, clinics, homes, and community settings, delivering evidence-based strategies and individualized supports to each family she serves.

A certified Safety-Care Trainer, Callie is passionate about developing future behavior analysts and highly skilled ABA professionals. She believes quality outcomes start with quality training and is committed to mentoring the next generation of clinicians.

As the parent of both a typically developing child and a child with special needs, Callie understands firsthand the challenges families face when navigating diagnoses, services, educational systems, and long-term planning. That perspective shaped the foundation of Guided Practice and continues to inform the organization’s commitment to compassionate, family-centered care.

Outside of work, Callie enjoys spending time with her family, trying new restaurants, attending concerts, traveling, and creating opportunities that improve the lives of children and families.

A Message From Callie

As a parent and a behavior analyst, I know how hard it can be to find the right services, speak up for your child, and plan for what’s ahead. I’ve faced those same worries both at work and at home, and they shape how I support families every day.
Some of the most meaningful moments in my career are the ones families carry forever—the first words, new friendships, growing independence, success at school, and milestones that once felt impossible. Those moments remind me why this work matters and fill me with hope and gratitude.
Guided Practice was created with a simple purpose: to stand beside school districts, classrooms, and families with skilled, practical, and compassionate support. I believe learning should be personalized, relevant, and engaging. My commitment is to help each child build the skills they need to live a fuller, more independent life.
Thank you for considering Guided Practice. We’re honored to meet your family, listen to your hopes, and work together to help your child thrive.
